15 PARKING IN DERBY STREET, HORNSBY
Visitors to Hornsby Hospital, and residents of Derby Road, have born the brunt of parking problems created by the reconstruction of Hornsby and Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital for some years. It will be many more years until the Hospital work is completed and even then it is unlikely that parking within the Hospital site will be sufficient for the needs of staff and visitors. To ensure adequate access to the hospital precinct co-operation is required between Council and NSW Health.

THAT Council: 1. Provide additional timed parking in Derby Road in consultation with residents and the hospital. 2. After the timed parking is installed in Derby Road, the location be monitored annually and if the demand for timed parking is sufficient, more timed parking areas be considered on other roads near the Hospital. 3. Council immediately write to the Minister for Health, The Hon. Jillian Skinner MP and the Minister for Mental Health, The Hon. Kevin Humphries MP, drawing their attention to the lack of on site parking at Hornsby Hospital and requesting the issue be addressed as part of the current Hospital upgrade. |
