PL43/14 - Development Application - Construction of a Child Care Centre for 90 Children - 60-74 The Crescent, Cheltenham |
Additional information with CHANGE to Recommendation
Group Manager’s Report No. PL43/14 at Page 2 under the heading ‘Proposal’ includes hours of operation 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Saturdays.
The applicant is seeking approval for the limited use of the centre on Saturdays for open days and Christmas parties.
The proposed temporary use for four Saturdays a year is unlikely to significantly impact on the amenity of the locality or the activities of the Cheltenham Recreation Club. Furthermore, the limited use of the facility on Saturdays is an appropriate component of the proposal given that some parents may be unable to attend events during normal business hours.
Accordingly, it is recommended that Condition No. 36 for the operating hours be amended to clarify that the use of the facility on Saturdays is limited to a maximum of four days in a calendar year as follows:
36. Hours of Operation
The hours of operation of the premise are restricted to those times listed below:
7.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday
9.00 am to 5.00 pm on a maximum of four Saturdays in a calendar year
