16 CONDOLENCE MOTION - MR DILIP CHOPRA
It is with great sadness I advise that former Councillor Mr Dilip Chopra passed away on Friday, 21 October 2016.
Dilip served as a B Ward Councillor from September 2008 until September 2012, and was an active committee member of the Hornsby Shire Seniors Advisory Committee.
Dilip had over 28 years community service with the Indian community in Sydney and was Past Vice-President of the United Indian Association and Hornsby Indian Seniors Group. Dilip also served on NSW Liberal Party’s Police, Age and Disability Committees. In 2015 he was awarded the Community Service Excellence Award at the annual Indian Australian Business and Community Awards.
Dilip was a great supporter of multiculturalism within Hornsby, and is survived by his son Vikram and daughter Sonal.
It is recommended that Council formally express its sincere condolences to the Chopra family as part of tonight’s Meeting.
