14 WORLD BUTCHERS CHALLENGE
Hornsby Shire has yet another significant claim to fame – home to the world’s best sausage. A team led by Hornsby butcher Adam Stratton has taken out the top prize at the prestigious World Butchers Challenge in Belfast. They won for their Pork Truffle and Provolone Cheese sausage. The importance of this win is enormous, triumphing over skilled butchers from nations such as Germany that pride themselves on the quality of their sausages.
This is not the first impressive win for Adam’s team, who have taken out a range of other awards including three gold, two silver and three bronze awards at the Australian Meat Industry Council’s 2019 North Shore Regional Awards. It is very gratifying to know that such talented and committed people, who make an art form of their profession, have chosen Hornsby Shire for their home.
