CS24/20 - Schedule of Council Meetings and Order of Business to Apply at Those Meetings - October 2020 to September 2021

Additional information with CHANGE to Recommendation

The original recommendation for this Report was for Council to adopt a schedule of meetings and order of business to apply at those meetings for the period October 2020 to September 2021.

As the next Council election will be held on the first Saturday of September 2021, it is highly unlikely that a formal meeting of the new Council will be held until October 2021 because of the induction and training that needs to be provided to successful candidates once the results of the election are known.

It is considered appropriate, therefore, that Council at this stage only adopt a schedule of meetings and order of business for the period October 2020 to August 2021.

A further report on the matter will be submitted for Council’s consideration in August 2021 such that a schedule of meetings and order of business can be put in place for the new Council elected in September 2021.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council:

1.         Adopt the schedule of ordinary Council meetings for the period October 2020 to August 2021 as set out in Attachment 1 of Director’s Report No. CS24/20.

2.         Adopt the order of business for the ordinary Council meetings to be held in the period October 2020 to August 2021 as set out in Attachment 2 of Director’s Report No. CS24/20.

3.         Note that due to the next Council election being held in September 2021, a report will be submitted for Council’s consideration in August 2021 dealing with the schedule of meetings and order of business to apply at meetings of the new Council from October 2021.
